Shandong Peninsula

This report covers the more urban and wealthy parts of Shandong province, a province that ranks number 2 in China in population size and number three in terms of GDP. It also looks at Henan province which ranks number three in China in total population and number five in GDP and especially the main driver of this province’s economy and affairs, Greater Zhengzhou.

Jinan and Qingdao are connected as both being part of the southern Bohai Sea economies, and the core drivers of the Shandong economy. Korean Consulate general is based here, over 55% of all S. Korea foreign investment into China is here, and, for Shandong, S. Korea is its largest trading partner. Not only due S. Koreans frequently travel here, for tens of thousands, they have made the peninsula their homes.
